What are the differences between steel belt bellows and double wall bellows

1. Different pipe diameters. The diameter of steel belt bellows can reach DN300 to DN3000. The diameter of double wall corrugated pipe is generally DN200 to DN800.

2. Raw materials are different. The steel belt corrugated pipe is made of high-density polyethylene, with the steel belt coated with adhesive resin on the surface as the main support structure, and is made into a wavy shape. There are many PE raw materials for extrusion molding of double wall corrugated pipes. The forming process is mainly composed of pipe forming, pipe cutting and flaring, and the price is relatively cheap.

3. Different connection methods. Steel belt corrugated pipe is commonly used for electric heating band, hot fusion welding or combination connection. The connection mode of double wall corrugated pipe is simple, only limited to plug type, with poor water sealing effect and easy water leakage.

4. The burial depth is different. The steel strip pipe can be buried 6-7m deep. The double wall corrugated pipe can be divided into S1 and S2 according to strength. S2 is stronger than S1. The buried depth of S2 double wall corrugated pipe shall not exceed 2.5m, which is far less than that of steel belt corrugated pipe.

5. Ring stiffness is different. The rigidity of steel belt bellows ring is SN8, SN10, SN12.5, SN16, while the rigidity of double wall bellows ring is SN4 and SN8.

6. Prices are different. Due to the increase of production process, the budget of steel belt corrugated steel pipe is higher than that of double wall corrugated pipe. However, with the continuous development and improvement of process, it is only a little higher at present.

7. Different application fields. It is precisely because of the different strength, that is, the stiffness of the ring is different, the application fields of the two are also different. Many double wall corrugated pipes are not suitable for construction of highway drainage works with corrugated steel pipes.
